Family Adoption Center is currently piloting a program to facilitate
international adoption placements. For couples interested in international
adoption, FAC will offer adoptions in Kazakhstan, as well as private
home studies and counseling services.
Kazakhstan is a moderately developed country in Central Asia, bordering on Russia and China, as well as several countries formerly part of the Soviet Union. Children are available for adoption primarily due to poor economic conditions.
Program Requirements:
- All applicants must be US citizens.
- Married couples or single women older than 25 are eligible.
- The adoptive mother must be at least 16 years older than the prospective
child.
- Applicants may be from anywhere in the US.
About the Children Available for Adoption in Kazakhstan:
- Children are approximately 3 months of age or older.
- Families can choose gender.
- Children are all in orphanages.
- Sibling groups are available, but rare.
Travel:
Travel is required for adoption from Kazakhstan. Adoptive families are escorted throughout the trip, which is approximately 4-6 weeks (depending on the region, one parent can return home after 2 weeks). A 2-week visitation is required prior to placement.
Additional Information:
Applications are encouraged from persons of all races and ethnic backgrounds.
FAC does not discriminate on the basis of religion, ethnic background,
income, or race.
More information on international adoption through FAC will be available
in the near future.
